Most frequently asked questions
How is Functional Learning LLC different from other ABA providers?
We take a neuro-affirming approach, emphasizing your child’s assent and preferences during treatment. Unlike traditional ABA models that focus heavily on behavior reduction, we use precision teaching to accelerate skill acquisition and retention, helping your child develop to their fullest potential.
Where are your services provided?
We offer services in community settings, in-home, and virtually, allowing flexibility to meet the unique needs of every family.
What is precision teaching, and why do you use it?
Precision teaching is a data-driven method that focuses on fluency, retention, and the rapid acquisition of skills. It allows us to customize instruction based on measurable progress, ensuring your child reaches their developmental milestones effectively and efficiently.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we are in-network with BCBS of Alabama, Cigna and Alabama Medicaid. We are working to become in network with other providers as well.
What is assent-based treatment, and why is it important?
Assent-based treatment ensures the learner willingly participates in therapy. This approach prioritizes the learner’s comfort and engagement, creating a positive and productive therapeutic experience that fosters trust and long-term success.
Do you offer parent training?
Yes, parent training is a core component of our services. We believe that empowering parents with the tools and strategies they need is essential for fostering progress and ensuring continuity of care outside therapy sessions.
